Review: The AMORINO from Fun Factory

or "How I Became a German Baroness"
Way back in September of last year, Fun Factory asked if they could send me one of their new vibes to review and I happily agreed. When it arrived it wasn't in a box with instructions and it had a weird yellow, silicone band wrapped between the tip and the clitoral stimulation bud. I shrugged my shoulders, removed the band and got to work. Wow, I loved this little vibrator! I used it like I use my Rabbit and it got me off faster and more powerfully than any insertable with clit stimulator ever did! Of course, more "testing" was needed and because I am dedicated to bringing everyone an honest and thorough review ... I went back to work. #FirstWorldProblems
The next day I emailed Fun Factory effusively complimenting their latest vibe ... there was just one problem ... it looked nothing like the picture of what they said they were going to send me (The Semolino). As it turns out, the warehouse had sent me a different vibe, one that wasn't coming out in the U.S. until 2014. I would have to wait to review it, ugh ... I am not known for my patience.
Fun Factory classifies the Amorino as a "mini vibe" and in contrast to the Stronic line, I would have to agree. But this is no "petite fleur" of a vibe, it's a robust and potent rumbler. At 6.7 in. and 1.5 in. wide (3.25 in. insertable) the Amorino might be smaller than a lot of handheld, insertable vibes, but it packs a wallop and has a feature that no other vibe in ANY other product line has ... a detachable silicone band.
Huh? Wha? Who cares?
Please calm down, and let Fun Factory explain ...
"The gently taut silicone stimulation band is placed between the softly rounded tip and the side bud for clitoral arousal. It externally stimulates the Venus mound (mons) and the vaginal lips (inner and outer labia) - this little detail ensures levels of excitement of a special kind. The Amorino is the first vibrator ever to use a silicone band to transmit vibrations all around the external erogenous zones. The string is removable and can be adjusted to create different sensations."
It seems the designers at Fun Factory wanted to make a toy that envelops the entire clitoral area; the band vibrates the less hyper-sensitive clitoral shaft, and the nose of the vibrator (that "bud" that I described earlier) covers the head (glans) of the clit. Once the Amorino is inserted and the band and nose are in place over the clit, there's no escape ... not that you'd want one. But, you don't necessarily need to insert it. You can graze the vibrating band over the vulva, perhaps so further south and stimulate the perineum and it's environs. In addition, the band, when twisted once or twice before placing it on the vibe, can bring the user other arousing sensations to area as well (see sketches below).
Fun Factory is marketing the Amorino as being shaped like a "cupid's bow," which is much classier and more accurate than my description of it resembling a pink, keychain, bottle-opener (THAT should give you a peek into my life). Like most Fun Factory vibes the Amorino is made of silky soft, body-safe, premium silicone. It weighs next to nothing, has the brilliant and easy Fun Factory controls (Press "FUN" to start, stop and lock / (+ ) and (-) to scroll through 6 patterns and speeds, kill switch), it's waterproof and rechargeable. The Amorino's tip is delightfully perfect for G-spot or prostate stimulation and there's a lower protruding bud that's in just the right place for your clitoris to get attention.

What if your labia could care less about vibration? Just remove the silicone band and use the Amorino vaginally or anally without it. However, if you aren't getting the thrill you expect from the yellow band, I ask that you give it a couple of more chances, and I'll tell you why. I found that depending on where I was in my cycle, my vulva is more sensitive some days and less sensitive on others. Also, here is another instance where my idea of "self-forplay" might be a good idea. Personally, after a full day at the office, a Zumba class, errands, dinner, et al - my Vulva and it's environs are in no mood to be aroused, no mood at all. All my Vulva wants to do is take a bath, watch Top Chef and go to bed¹. But, if while you are watching Top Chef you're stroking your outer lips, mons, grazing your clit, whatever feels good, you might find by the time Padma says "Please pack your knives and go." you'll be ready and revved for the genius that is the Amorino and its silicone band.

Should the band still fail to rock your world, as a basic vibrator, the Amorino doesn't shirk it's responsibilities at all, there's a lot of power in it's punch. In fact, I use the Amorino without the band instead of a "Rabbit." Don't get me wrong, I love my Rabbit ... but the Amorino just does a faster, quieter and easier job of getting me off. All men and women are different in how their vaginas and anuses are built, that's why some toys work for some people and not for others. For me it's the perfect fit for my vagina, hitting my g-spot and my clit simultaneously and with enough power to get the job done effortlessly. I have four toys in my nightstand and the Amorino is the only insertable. Since September 2013 when I received the Amorino, I've received 8 vibrators (4 internal and 4 external). Of those 4 internal vibrators, only 2 were great enough to use over and over again ... the Stronic Drei and the Amorino... both by Fun Factory ... I'm noticing a trend.
Additionally, the Amorino is compact, easily fit in a pocketbook, carry-on, fanny pack or man-purse. I traveled a lot in the past 5 months and the Amorino and Form 2 were the only vibes I took. Generally, when I'm by myself, my first choice is always the Amorino. In fact, it has become such a staple of my routine that I have nicknamed it "Baron von Amorino of Bremen" and often refer to using it as "going to bed with the Baron." I wonder if this makes me some kind of Baroness?
I just decided it DOES.
Anyway ... I defy anyone that falls in love with the Fun Factory Amorino like I did, to NOT give it a royal moniker ... come on ... I dare ya.
